Director of Referee Development
Jerry R. Beatty, Director of Referee Development for Charlotte Sports Officials is responsible for directing the organization on a day-to day basis, and managing the overall strategic direction.

His qualifications, professional certification and experiences include:
1) Masters of Science degree in Sports Administration -- Grambling State University of Louisiana
2) Bachelor of Science degree in Health, Physical Education and Recreation -- Fayetteville State University of North Carolina
3) Eighteen (18) years  North Carolina High School Basketball Official
4) Class One ranking by North Carolina High School Athletic Association Officials Program
5) Scored in 90th percentile NFHSAA State Rule Exam
6) Six (6) years of professional basketball officiating experience in the United States Basketball League (USBL) where served as Crew Chief for two (2) years, member of officiating staff of the now defunct Global Basketball Association (GBA) for two (2) years and ten (10) years of officiating experience with the Charlotte Pro-Am Basketball League
7) Eighteen (18) years as a member of the Amateur Athletic Union National Boys Basketball Officials Staff
8) Ten (10) years of experience assigning basketball officials for local youth/adult basketball programs
9) Served as Clinician for local Basketball Officiating organization for six (6) years
10) Proven track record in developing officials, 80% of all new officials that were developed within the last 10 (ten) years are successfully officiating at the recreational, middle school, high school and/or college level.
11) Active member of local and national officiating organizations.
